Oenological research today aims to develop practices and techniques that have the least impact on the environment, to preserve the healthiness of the planet, the vine and the grapes, increase the organoleptic quality of the wine and, therefore, protect the health of the consumer. THE ZEI Project, acronym for Zero Environmental Impact (translated: Zero Environmental Impact), acquired by Prime Evolution and developed by a research group from the University of Tuscia and led by Prof. Marco Esti, professor of Oenology and Dr. Alessandro Leoni, agronomist and consultant for numerous companies throughout Italy and producer in Umbria.
Read moreZEI™ is a natural solution for the defence of the vine and for the enhancement of the polyphenolic and aromatic content of the grapes. Being completely natural, ZEI™ affects the leaf surface of the vine by stimulating the production of secondary metabolites such as polyphenols and aromatic precursors, ensuring full respect for the varietal characteristics and terroir. ZEI™ is made with natural compounds that have a dual action on the pathogen. The first action is directed to intoxicate the pathogen and to prevent its proliferation and reproduction by interfering with membrane proteins and blocking the primary metabolism of the pathogen. The second action is indirect, since the combination of peptides and hydroxycinnamic acids stimulates the Acquired Systemic Resistance (SAR) in the plant, further protecting it from pathogen attacks. The plant is stimulated to produce greater quantities of phytoalexins and PRP (pathogen-associated reaction proteins) acquiring a systemic resistance that can remain in the memory of the plant even for days.
